Place and delete Hints in flash

Flash likes to use the deformation path of least resistance.It sometimes makes your shape tween look like your cat sat on the top. Enter, stage left, the shape of tips! These shapes give you better control of the transition. They can maintain the main shape while you deform.


You can only have arrangement of shapes from A to Z. Key frame at the beginning of the shape of tips are yellow and the end of the key frame is green. If it is red, it means that the shape is not in the curve. To Place a a hint on the stage you need to to have tweening set on the first frame of the image. Otherwise you will not be able to add hints. To delete a shape hint off the stage ,just close it and it will affect the frame where the tips is

Shape Morph with Hints

First, select the first keyframe of the shape-tween and select the object to which you want to add the hint.
Choose Modify> Transform> Add Shape Hint.

Next you have to drag it to a point on your image that you want to control during the morph.

Now select the last keyframe of the tween. You will see the green ending circle with a letter a, appear on the image. Move this hint to the place you want the starting a to end up. The point a marked in the starting frame will become the point a in the ending frame.

If you click on the first keyframe again you will notice the red circle has turned yellow. While you are practising use only one shape hint until you feel comfortable.


Place a hints on the stage

Select the first keyframe shape tweens
To ensure that shape tweening is set on the first frame
Select Edit"> Transform> Add Shape Tips
Select the last key frame shape tween
Move Shape Hint into place



Delete a shape hint
Drag it off the stage

View all your shape tips
Select the layer containing the shape tips
Select View> Show Shape Hints
